Covid-19 will continue to be a staple of our lives for a long time, and the Agile Coaching Lab was held under the shadow of a new quarantine.
Years ago, I read in a book that said the best way to understand a subject is to think deeply about it, and this week we specifically discussed the team, team structure, the impact of workspace on the team, and team models.
Have you ever wondered why, despite providing so much assistance in many ways, such as managing people, controlling the environment, and coaching teams, so many businesses fail to establish successful and high-performing teams? This was the question we worked on this week during the coaching course and got acquainted with the following teams’ models:
- Team
- Pseudo-teams
- Temporary Alliances
- Co-Workers
Working together, a team may integrate personal views, expertise, and talents to tackle complex issues, resulting in new answers and ideas beyond any single person’s reach. Individuals gain from effective collaboration as well as improving the success of organizations.
Based on the above, some most important characteristics of successful teams are:
Experimentation
- Experimentation
- Awareness
- Collaboration
- Productivity
- Mindset
- Diversity
Now the question is, how office design can help your team work better? At first glance, this question may seem irrelevant. Still, in an interview with Employee Engagement, Morgan Thomas proves that workspace design directly impacts teamwork and the interaction of individuals within the team and the organization (https://www.outbackteambuilding.com/blog/how-office-design-can-help-you-work-better/).
Based on Morgan’s idea, a good design of work environment by using all available spaces with a combination of color, light, and equipment can increase people’s efficiency, well-being, collaboration engagement. Some important considerations for office design if we want to build great environments for teams are
- Proper lighting
- Use good furniture
- Use of color combinations
- Use the right plants (I prefer to add even an aquarium)
